2008 Mazda RX-8

The 2008 Mazda RX-8 embodies confidence and luxury perfectly balanced with speed. It is available in both automatic and manual shift transmission. This year sees a special addition to this series as Mazda churns out its 40th anniversary model to celebrate forty years of its award winning rotary engines.

The 2008 Mazda RX-8 also comes with four doors. The two half-doors at the back allow rear passengers easy access into their seats without any hassle. The 40th year special edition model comes in gray with red upholstery.

It is also equipped with special 18” wheels, a silver colored engine cover, special badging, and unique suspension modifications making it a preferred choice among all of the other models released in this series this year.

The '08 RX-8 also provides plenty of performance features like its 1.3 liter rotary engine churning out an impressive 212 hp at 7500 rpm in the automatic transmission and an even more impressive 232 hp at 8500 rpm with a manual shift.

2007 Mazda RX-8

After Mazda decided to do away with rotary engines in 1995, fans were widely disappointed that they would not be able to drive another rotary engine Mazda for a while. But in 2004, the company decided to revive it with the RX-8 series, and the 2007 Mazda RX-8 is no exception.

The power behind the RX-8 does indeed lie with the 1.3 liter rotary engine that manages to put out an amazing 232 hp when coupled with a six speed manual gearbox, and 212 hp when coupled with a six speed automatic.

The 2007 release sees the 2007 Mazda RX-8 available in two new colors – Stormy Blue Mica and Crystal White Pearl, and the interiors come in a dual tone with a body color and black combination. The console is aluminum themed, as is the gearshift lever and the transmission tunnel.

Another addition is the triangular shaped front headrests, shift lever and side sill covers that accentuate the engine’s rotors.

2006 Mazda RX-8

The 2006 Mazda RX-8 follows closely on the heels of the 2005 edition. After fans of the RX-7 approved of the company’s revival of their rotary engine technology in 2004, the car became a runaway hit. This sports car comes with four doors, and can easily seat four adults. The RX-8 is equipped with two half-doors in the rear providing easy access to the people sitting in the back.

The famous Renesis rotary engine produces a breathtaking 232 hp when coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox. The six-speed automatic gearbox generates 212 hp, which is a big upgrade from previous models. This is especially notable as the 2006 Mazda RX-8 only has a 1.3 liter twin rotor engine.

The '06 RX-8 is designed to make optimal use of its aggressive air intake design and has a curvy exterior. It comes with side-impact front airbags, curtain-type side airbags, and full anti-lock braking system as part of its standard features.
